Question about overtime?
Asked by Casie
My husband works at a very small company, welding and installing pipe for underground gasoline tanks... His official title is logistics manager though. I recently had a baby and we decided to go to salary so if he ever needed to go to a doctor appointment his work would be flexible he would just work extra hours another day, it sounded perfect. Since he has gone to salary he works 60-80hrs a week, weekends, and also travels being gone at weeks at a time with no extra compensation. He has spent so much time at work he almost missed the birth of his first son. I live in florida does anybody know if this is illegal or are there laws requiring his boss to compensate him for all the extra work. Thank you

Nope. This is the downside of becoming an exempt employee.
