Should you give a 2 weeks notice if you are still in training?
Asked by pengworm
I've only been at my job for about 2 and a half weeks part time as a retail cashier and I'm still in training. Would it not make more sense to just forget the 2 weeks notice and to just quit rather than them wasting more time and money on training somebody who isn't staying? By the way I'm just seasonal and they are hiring tons of seasonal help.

You're right, you should probably just quit, but only because of the type of job (seasonal help). If it was a permanent position, I would recommend otherwise. However, you may still want to to work the two weeks notice, just to be more professional. That way, you're not burning a bridge. They'll most likely recommend that you go ahead and quit now. Either way, go in person and let them know. A phone call at the very least; don't just stop showing up.
