Do you have to pay child maintenance on a job which pays commison only?

I have just started a job selling cars on a bonus basis with a nominal wage of 11k pa for a 55hour week!!! If I sell cars it is obviously I will make some money but the bonus is not good. If I need to make a good wage I need to sell 15 new pw!! HELP.

You have to pay Child Maintenance on all you income no matter how much or little you earn. The child is yours so its only fair that you pay towards its keep.

The thing is, why you think your being forced to pay? Its your child don't you care about him? Kids cost money you know, you should be willingly contributing anyway. Your saying 55 hour week as if its a huge amount of hours to work or something. I work 55 - 65 hours a week.

Your contributions will be assessed on your ACTUAL earnings, so you will only pay what you can afford.

I agree with west brom. anything is better than nothing to the parent left facing the bills and day-to-day costs of raising a child alone. so you may not have pay but i would of thought you'd want to pay? good luck with th job!
