What are the pros and cons of having surveillance cameras in nursing homes?
Asked by Twilight Is Love
I am a nursing major and for my English class we have to write a persuasive essay that somehow relates to nursing. So, I chose this (if you have other suggestions, let me know). So, are you for or against having surveillance cameras in nursing homes? Why or why not? THANKS!

Best Answer:
Pros - may prevent abuse, and may help to catch abuse and the abuser may prevent theft may protect the patients by locating if anyone has fallen or needs assistance Cons - may be hard to keep employees, if they don't like the idea of being watched all of the time would need to be careful of privacy violations with patients... may need their approval or family approval for cameras in their rooms, or even in public places within the nursing home
