is it ok to be a dental assistant but going to college to be a nurse?
Asked by Cutie

Of course. There are plenty of nurses who haven't had any prior medical experience. Working in a dental office relates to the medical/health field, so it will be a great learning experience. I am sure some of the duties you will have as a DA will show up in your nursing profession. You are still interacting with patients, always a plus.

A:
Yes, after all you are still getting some experience in the medical field and getting to see how it is in working with patients.

Before you are licensed as an RN, you can't work as an RN, so don't worry about not having nursing experience. Being a dental assistant will actually provide you with knowledge that is skipped in nursing school and overlooked in nursing practice.

Being a dental assistant is not that bad for you are getting an experience for a medical field as well. Experience is really important to become a nurse or to find a nursing job.
