Why are people telling me not to go work in a nursing home straight from LVN school?
Asked by LATRICE S
I've heard that once you work in a nursing home no one else will want to hire you. Is this true?

No not true. My sister was hired as a per diem staff at a hospital for about a few months, until there was an opening on the floor she worked. Work per diem/on call for awhile and apply when you see another opening.
My mother is a registered nurse and my sister is a LNA

The bottom line is this; Nursing is nursing. It's a fairy tale student nurses tell each other and it is completely untrue. Rest assured, you will get a job. Be grateful for any opportunity, as they are rare for new grads at the moment. Good luck!
