Of course it isn't! How many employers even give a flying f*** about you?... NONE! Just tell the employer thanks, and you will be taking the job... but don't show up.

If you did not take the job you applied, it's not something to be called rude. It's beyond your decision and there's nothing bad about that. The only thing bad to that is, for instance, you'll be applying to that job again for after months or years, you might not be able to get hired again.

If you want a job, you may have to put in many applications. If more than one application leads to a job offer, you have to choose. They might have hundreds of applicants for each opening, so if you hurt someone's feelings by not taking a job, they'll get over it. If you had an interview before deciding not to take the job, it would be polite to write a thank you note.
