J.O. Galloup had it's start as a small plumbing shop opened by John Olin Galloup in the basement under a clothing store in Battle Creek. The Battle Creek Evening Journal reported the event in it's November 6, 1886 edition and wrote, "Mr. Galloup is a practical and experienced workman and is favorably known". Members of the Galloup family have owned and managed the company since 1886.
