Our Mission
The Harvard Clinical Research Institute (HCRI) is an applied clinical science center that provides integrative resources to support clinical trials and other clinical research. Working within the unique world-class patient care and research environment of the Harvard Medical School and affiliated institutions, we uphold the highest academic and ethical principles for patient-based research. We partner with sponsors to: 1) develop novel and efficient methodologies in the dynamic evaluation of new biological, pharmacological, and device technology, 2) involve Harvard thought leaders in pre-clinical, clinical, biostatistical, and epidemiological disciplines and 3) provide a practicum experience in the education and training of tomorrows clinical research leaders. Functionally, HCRI provides technical, scientific and administrative resources of the highest quality to effect these aims. HCRI facilitates interaction of existing scientific resources within its academic community and broadens interaction among clinical researchers and sponsors of research around the world. To the employees of HCRI, we afford an environment of professional development and education that will enhance the value of the Institute as well as the personal growth and development of each and every employee. We undertake all research in a fiscally responsible manner, assuring the long-term economic well-being of the Institute.
