The Dolce&Gabbana Group with its two brands, Dolce&Gabbana and D&G Dolce&Gabbana, is one of the top international names in the clothing and luxury goods sectors. The two founders, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, have always been the creative and stylistic source of both brands and the leaders behind the Groups growth strategies, whose main objectives are balanced development and a focus on the core business. Dolce&Gabbana creates, produces and distributes clothing, knitwear, leather goods, footwear and accessories for the top end of the market. It also has exclusive brand rights to Dolce&Gabbana and D&G Dolce&Gabbana fragrances and eyewear and to D&G Dolce&Gabbana clothing and wristwatches, which are produced and distributed under licence. It has direct control over the entire value chain for the Dolce&Gabbana brand, from creation to sale, with the exception of licensed products.

In the 2003/2004 fiscal year, the Dolce&Gabbana Group continued to consolidate the growth of the last few years, reporting significant increases in its main business and financial aggregates. Revenues reached 585.1 million euros, a rise of 23.2% on the previous period; Ebitda improved by 34.5% to 120.2 million euros, and Ebit rose from 72.1 to 99.8 million euros, an increase of 38.5%. Consolidated net income improved by 33.8% to reach 55.5 million euros. Wholesale revenues, that is, sales of Dolce&Gabbana and D&G Dolce&Gabbana branded products by the Group and by its licensees, totalled 867.5 million euros, an improvement of 15.1% compared with the previous fiscal year. At the end of the fiscal year on 31 March 2004, Dolce&Gabbana had 1,776 employees and 73 retail stores worldwide. In April 2004, Dolce&Gabbana S.p.A. became a limited liability company (S.r.l.).
