Countless lives have been touched over the last 50 years by the healing hands at Children's Hospital Central California. CHCC is a 255-bed pediatric medical center. We have more than 500 doctors practicing in over 40 pediatric subspecialties. CHCC sees more than 12,000 inpatient cases, 50,000 emergency and urgent care visits, and performs over 9,000 surgeries each year. The Hospital's primary service area encompasses over 45,000 square miles, stretching from Stockton to Bakersfield and the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the Pacific Ocean.
CHCC is not only one of the biggest pediatric hospitals, it's one of the best. We've received exceptional ratings in key areas such as pain management, cleanliness, and responsiveness to special needs. Our NICU, PICU, and Trauma Services are particularly noteworthy for annually ranking among the highest in their peer groups for survival rates. We've recently been designated a Magnet Nursing Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This prestigious award recognizes excellence in nursing services and is given to less than 1% of all hospitals nationwide. CHCC is the only pediatric Magnet hospital west of Texas and is one of just three facilities in California to receive the award.
CHCC is located on the river bluffs just north of Fresno, California. An emerging metropolis located in the heart of California, Fresno is home to a diverse cultural blend of nearly half a million people representing over 90 cultures. Our enviable geographic location leaves us just a few hours' drive away from world-famous travel destinations like Los Angeles and San Francisco. Fresno's housing is among the most affordable in the State, our schools award-winning, and our culture as rich and diverse as the agriculture that surrounds us. Fresno has all the amenities of a big city and very few of the headaches. With minimal traffic, friendly people, and a small town atmosphere, Fresno is truly a place you want to be. | | |
