Word & Brown Insurance Administrators Inc. was founded in 1984 by John M. Word III CLU, RHU and Edward J. "Rusty" Brown Jr. to market and distribute health plans to California's brokerage community.
The centerpiece of this new General Agency was a powerful new quoting engine, Quot-O-Matic, that enabled brokers and their clients to directly compare benefits and rates of several different carriers in one "apples to apples" proposal. These accurate, next day sales tools allowed small groups to make well-informed health care decisions, and further enhanced the broker's reputation for prompt, knowledgeable service. Word & Brown also unveiled extensive sales support to assist brokers. Pre-underwriting of cases, no-cost group enrollment, same day document pick-up, product seminars and in-house Section 125 and COBRA administration allowed brokers to minimize paperwork "downtime" while presenting clients with superior follow up expertise. |
