Where we are...
Located at 916 Cotting Lane, in Vacaville, CA, our 40,000-square-foot plant is a state-of-the-art achievement and a symbol of The Reporter's dedication to the community. We are very proud of our plant and press and offer guided tours by appointment. For information, call 448-6401 or 447-8121 or 687-2200 from Dixon. The down side of our location is that we're no longer in the middle of the city. While we welcome readers to drop off press releases, you may find it more convenient to fax, mail (The Reporter, 916 Cotting Lane, Vacaville, CA 95688 or PO Box 1509, Vacaville, CA 95896) or email them. If you need to meet an editor or reporter we encourage you make an appointment. Editors are seen by appointment only and reporter's schedules vary.
When do we publish?...
The Reporter is a daily newspaper, publishing seven days a week. In our history we have moved from printing the newspaper out of the back of Vacaville's only job printing shop once a week, to publishing twice, then three times a week. In the early 1980s we moved in quick succession to five, six, and finally seven days a week. Online, TheReporter.Com is updated daily, usually by 8 a.m.
How we cover the news...
At The Reporter we take great pride in being a community newspaper. We work hard to provide the best news coverage possible for the communities of Vacaville, Dixon, Fairfield and the rest of northern Solano County. We have a team of reporters, each assigned an area of coverage, a "beat." These beats include public safety (police and fire, sheriff and highway patrol), education (the unified school districts in Vacaville, Dixon and Fairfield and Solano Community College), city beats in Vacaville and Dixon, county government, business in the area and the courts. We also have a team of staff photographers who provide photo coverage for these beats as well as sports and features. A talented group of page designers/illustrators and copy editors round out the editorial department.
