Our Commitment To Quality
Ditech Networks' comprehensive approach to quality underscores our dedication to product and service excellence, customer satisfaction and environmental responsibility.
ISO 9001 is the widely accepted standard for quality management. ISO 14001 provides a similar framework for environmental management. Ditech has been ISO 9001 certified since 1997, and 14001 certified since 2004.
We are recognized as having a consistently strong, integrated management system that supports world-class product and process quality, as well as environmentally responsible business practices. Our CY2007 initiatives include reducing paper consumption, and continuing our bi-annual employee e-waste recycling events. Additionally, we have been certified by Santa Clara County as a County Green Business.
Our Core Beliefs
As the leading provider of voice quality solutions to communications providers around the world, our employees come to work every day understanding that it is our job to find the right solutions for our customers. We recognize that everything we do has an impact and we approach our work with an attitude of pride and determination to bring real value to our products and platforms.
Customer Excellence: Ditech recognizes that consistently delivering defect-free products on time is only one characteristic of a world-class supplier. Quality relationships with our customers are equally important. Ditech continually strives to improve its responsiveness to customers, to anticipate customer requirements, and to provide customers with top-tier service.
Employer Excellence: Participation in the development and improvement of Ditech's business model occurs at all levels of the organization. Ditech's management strives to implement and improve core values by providing employees with information, training and opportunities.
Supplier Excellence: Ditech expects its suppliers to provide defect-free products and services that conform to our requirements. Ditech is responsible for ensuring that requirements are defined clearly and delivered in an effective and timely manner. Ditech partners with suppliers committed to continual improvement in their own quality system, and to a relationship with Ditech. As part of that business relationship, Ditech expects contract manufacturing partners and key suppliers to maintain a 9001- and 14001-certified System.
Environmental Management Programs
Ditech formalized its commitment to responsible environmental management with ISO 14001 certification in 2004. The initial programs focused on reducing the use of consumable items and implementing targeted recycling programs. Since then, Ditech has expanded its efforts by establishing:
Proactive Approach to Business Practices
Comprehensive Recycling Programs
Employee e-waste Recycling Events
Partnerships for Environmental Responsibility
Worldwide Environmental Legislation
RoHS originally referred to the European Union (EU) Directive 2002/95/EC on the Restriction of six specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The six restricted substances are: Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr-6), and PBBEs, and PBDEs. Since the implementation of the EU directive in 2006, other countries have begun investigating and/or implementing similar legislation.
European Union: Based on independent industry benchmarking and guidance offered by the UK's Department of Trade and Industry, Ditech will use the lead-in-solder exemption allowed for network infrastructure equipment. As such, Ditech products meet what is commonly called 5-of-6 compliance to the EU ROHS directive 95/2002/EC.
China-RoHS: Although similar in scope, implementation of China-RoHS is differs from the EU program. As of March 1, 2007, all Ditech product placed for sale in the China market is in compliance with the key elements of China's Phase 1 program. Among the requirements are: the marking of all product packaging with the appropriate recycling symbol, and the inclusion of a Hazardous Substance Table (HST) identifying the presence of any of the six restricted substances.
WEEE: The EU Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive requires producers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment to be responsible for the collection, treatment, and recovery costs of WEEE. Ditech supports EU efforts to reduce waste from electrical and electronic equipment. All Ditech products, placed on the EU market after January 1, 2006 are labeled with the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol. |
