While 2007 will be remembered as a year filled with rapidly changing economic conditions, significant dislocation in the mortgage market, and massive losses in both earnings and market value among many of America’s largest and most trusted financial intermediaries, California National Bank will remember 2007 as a year that validated our strategy of rational growth and strong credit discipline. During 2007, California National Bank reported earnings of $58.5 million, resulting in a return on average assets of 1.03%. More importantly, we continue to generate strong earnings while maintaining a solid loan portfolio that is free of sub prime mortgage loans and the high risk securities that have contributed to losses at other financial institutions.
