In 1997, John E. Ware, Jr., PhD, principal developer of the SF-36 ® Health Survey, founded QualityMetric Incorporated to translate years of patient-reported outcomes (PRO) research into practical applications that would support improvement in health care.

Almost 10 years, 7,500 peer-reviewed articles and 1,000 clinical studies later, privately-owned QualityMetric continues to advocate for incorporation of the patient's voice into almost every facet of health care. Our health status and outcomes measurement products and services utilize proprietary analytical methodologies to capture, benchmark, and interpret patient-reported health information. The validity, precision, versatility, and utility of QualityMetric's comprehensive product portfolio have made our surveys the most accurate and widely used PRO measurement tools in the health care market.
