The vision of Hospice Austin is to be the most trusted provider of professional, ethical, and individual end-of-life care, demonstrated by excellence in patient care, family support, staff development and community education.

Our History

Established as a grass-roots, community base program in 1979, Hospice Austin began providing services to terminally ill persons and their families and caregivers during the summer of 1980.  With visionary leadership and collaborative support from area hospitals, organizations, individuals and the community, Hospice Austin flourished and was able to serve every family who needed and requested our services.

In 1986, Hospice Austin became Medicare certified and expanded its services to surrounding counties. Hospice Austin and its inpatient facility, Hospice Austin’s Christopher House, have been accredited since 1998, first by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and, in 2001, by the Community Health Accreditation Program.

Hospice Austin helps each patient and family make the most of each day of life. We honor the values of each individual, fitting our care to the patients needs. We know that this can be an intense and exhausting time filled with sorrow, fear and the unknown. Hospice Austin is here to walk side-by-side with each patient, every step of the way.

Hospice Austin provides comprehensive, specialized care to patients and families living with a life-threatening or advanced illness.
