Insurance Benefits (Full-Time Employees)

• Health: Choose from the QuikTrip self administered plan with a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or an HMO. QuikTrip contributes approximately 80% of the total cost of the plan.
• Dental: Two free cleanings per year. $50 annual deductible and $1,250 annual maximum per covered individual.
• Life: Coverage at twice the previous year's earnings. Supplemental term and whole life plans also available.
• Vision: Covers eye examinations and glasses or contact lenses.
• Part-Time Employees are eligible for insurance coverage through StarBridge after 30 days of employment. At their second anniversary, they may enroll in the standard QuikTrip Benefits Plan.

Financial Benefits

• 401(k): Annual maximum amount of $15,500 from each employee's compensation can be invested in QuikTrip's 401(k) plan. QuikTrip matches the employee's contribution at a 50% rate for up to 6% of their annual pay.
• Profit Sharing: QuikTrip annually contributes a percentage of pretax profit.
• Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP): QuikTrip annually contributes company stock equivalent to a percentage of pretax profit.

CAREER PATHS

One of the keys to QuikTrip's success is due to promoting people from within rather than hiring outside.

All Store Team members start as either Clerks or Assistant Managers. Based on how well they do their job, they earn promotions to higher positions. Every person in management operations from the President to Division Manager to Area Supervisor to Store Manager started at the entry level.

The only thing QuikTrip does is operate QuikTrip stores. All efforts are focused toward making every store a successful business unit. That takes a lot of effort from support departments in the company.

Many of the people in key positions in support departments started in entry-level store positions. Some had prior experience or education. Many more had no prior work background, but showed the ability to learn new things, to take on new challenges, and produce results.

TRAINING

Starting from the first day on the job, QuikTrip provides the training and the opportunity for each team member to reach their full potential.

Orientation Training

Orientation training has two purposes. First, it provides all the information a new team member will need to be successful in his or her job. Second, it is an opportunity for the new team member and for QuikTrip to determine if the job will be a good fit.

New full-time team members receive two weeks of hands-on training. The first day consists of an orientation session in the division training center to give new team members a background of what QuikTrip is all about and what QuikTrip expects from them. The rest of the two weeks are spent with a Trainer, who will work side-by-side with the new team member in the store he or she will be assigned to and on the shift he or she will be working after training. This one-on-one, on-the-job training has proven to be very effective in getting the new team member off and running.

Part-Time Clerks also attend an orientation class, and then receive one week of hands-on training in a Clerk Training Store with a trainer learning to do the specific tasks they will be doing in their store.

Ongoing Training
Training continues throughout every team member's career at QuikTrip. Store Managers conduct follow-up training during monthly one-on-one meetings with each team member. Leadership skills training is ongoing with required Skill Schools for Assistant Managers.

All Full-Time Store Team Members attend a briefing approximately two months after joining QuikTrip. There they meet with the Division Personnel Manager to evaluate their training. QT's core values and purpose are discussed in detail. An in-depth briefing on benefits wraps up the session.

All full-time team members are paid a bonus based on their store's monthly customer service evaluation, operating profit, so they are trained on how to read the monthly store financial statements and how to make changes to positively impact the bottom line.

Newly promoted Store Managers go through a two-month training period in their assigned store, and then participate in a week-long Manager Development Conference designed to enhance their people and leadership skills.

Training is not something that is one way at QuikTrip. Everyone is expected to continually improve their own skills and abilities as well as to train and support other team members.
