Park Central is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) dedicated to exceptional residential life. We believe in the dignity, security and comfort of every individual. Park Central is committed to a ministry of enhancing the quality of life for senior adults and their families in the loving atmosphere of a Christian community.
Nestled in the vibrant hub of downtown Amarillo, Texas, Park Central began with the development of Park Place Towers in the late 1970s by the First Baptist/Amarillo Foundation and First Baptist Church. More than 35 years later, this non-profit senior housing development has expanded into one of the finest continuing care retirement communities in the southwest United States. Despite the regional acclaim, Park Central remains home-owned and profoundly committed to Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle. Park Central is devoted to a singular goal: to enhance the lives of senior adults (and their families) by offering them the peace of mind that comes from a compassionate, life-affirming environment. This environment includes a variety of lifestyle options [link], from comprehensive long-term care to the independent living offered by affordable, elegant housing. This full spectrum of care allows our residents to remain within the same familiar community — surrounded by their spouses, friends, and neighbors — even as their needs change.
Park Central received the 2006 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics by the Better Business Bureau.

Park Central is located in downtown Amarillo, just minutes from the area’s award-winning hospital system and medical facilities and surrounded by a variety of cultural and entertainment options, fine dining, and a large senior center. Within walking distance of our campus are five different denominations of churches.
