Foundation
Universal 1 Credit Union was founded in 1937 in Dayton, Ohio by employees of the National Cash Register Company (NCR). Today, we operate as a strong financial cooperative extending competitive financial products and services to members all over the world. Individuals are eligible to join our Credit Union if they live, work, worship, or attend school in any one of the many communities that we serve; have a family member who is an established member of the Credit Union; or work for a company that is affiliated with the Credit Union. We continue to expand our membership to additional communities and companies. Join us and become part of a growing family of more than 70,000 members.

To advance the credit union ideal of a member owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative; to provide and promote the use of numerous innovative and high quality financial services…featuring competitive benefits and advantages to help members gain personal financial success; and to extend services emphasizing financial education throughout the membership and community.
Philosophy
Universal 1 Credit Union supports the credit union industry though participation at national, state and local levels. Credit unions were founded under the principles of "Not for Profit, Not for Charity, But for Service" and "People Helping People." Our operating guidelines are rooted in these core philosophies.
We serve as the primary financial institution for our members. We develop products and services that meet the needs of our members, and deliver these products and services through traditional and ever-evolving delivery channels, keeping technology in the forefront.
We pride ourselves on service. Member contact at all levels is based upon respect, professionalism and the highest degree of honesty and integrity. We are financial advisors and educators that assist members in making wise and sound financial decisions.
