River City Federal Credit Union provides quality financial services responsive to our member-owners while maintaining a sound financial position.

Who We Are

River City Federal Credit Union members are employees and families of AT&T and their subsidiaries and continuing entities, who work in San Antonio, Texas and the surrounding area.

Membership is also extended to people who live, work, worship or attend school in Bexar County (click here to view a complete list of Membership Eligibility).

The credit union has more than 11,900 members.  Savings on deposit from RCFCU members are more than $128 million, of which more than $89 million are on loan to members (see our Statement of Condition).

River City Federal Credit Union History

River City FCU was chartered in 1936 by ten telephone company employees with a vision and $100. They volunteered their time to foster a common dream, and this website is evidence of their success.

Our credit union was originally chartered under the name of San Antonio Telephone Employees Federal Credit Union.  Now, River City FCU serves not only telephone employees, but the heart of the San Antonio community, including people who live, work, worship or attend school in Bexar County.

Here are some important events that occurred in River City FCU's history:

• 1936 - Charter approved by the Governor of the Farm Credit Administration
• 1946 - Offices rented at the Insurance Building and first general manager, Roger Siddall, hired
• 1959 - Sandra K. Kristek, Vice President - Member Services, hired
• 1960 - First offices built at 202 Baltimore
• 1975 - Second general manager, Jack Kile, hired
• 1979 - First branch office opened at a Northside storefront
• 1986 - Watt Prichard, President and CEO, hired
• 1990 - Second office opened in the AT&T building at 4119 Broadway
• 1993 - Downtown Office relocated to 610 Augusta
• 1996 - North Office relocated to permanent facility at 825 Jackson Keller
• 2001 – Field of membership expanded to include the community inside Loop 410
• 2002 – Name changed to River City Federal Credit Union
• 2005 - Reached $100 million in assets and field of membership expanded to Bexar County
