Passion for Tomatoes
Why Naples Tomato?
The words Naples and Tomato go together. Whether it is San Marzano tomatoes from outside Naples, Italy or beautiful beefsteaks from Naples, Florida, the words Naples and Tomato have a natural affinity. In fact, we have been working with Harvest for Humanity and the University of Florida to grow several varieties of heirloom tomatoes right here in Southwest Florida.
Naples is a word that brings to mind tradition and casual sophistication. Tomatoes are fresh and seasonal. Naples Tomato combines the best to deliver an experience that is new, seasonal and exciting, but still rooted in tradition.
Wine Program
Something unexpected.
Many wine shops buy the majority of their wines from one or two large distributors. The wine shop owner is happy because it simplifies their job and the wine distributors give them an annual trip to Key West. It’s not so good for the wine shop’s customers. This is why you can go into 10 different wine shops and see virtually the same wines.
We have been to California, to France, to Italy. We started with the wine producers and then worked our way to the distributors that carried their wine. In this way, we have created a unique selection of hard to find wine “gems” that are sure to make wine lovers smile. We have a range of prices from about $10 to over $1,000. Regardless of the price, our customers always get a handpicked wine that is far more special than the stuff produced for the masses. Also, we are not “wine snobs”. If you are just getting to know wine please come in. We would love to meet you and talk about wine.
Cuisine
Our food, your way.
Restaurant
Our cuisine is American Neapolitan. Some choices have been braised for hours, while others are made the moment that you order them. Many selections contain unique homemade pastas containing local ingredients such as gulf shrimp, stone crab and local produce. There are unique sauces as well such as our Naples Tomato Essence. We will post our menu the night before we open.
Grocery
We are not fans of gourmet markets that sell hot sauce for $20 and offer 200 varieties of wasabi-mango-chutney. As foodies ourselves, we find this confusing and costly. There should be a reason why a product is offered for sale. We have spent over a year tasting products that we will offer in our market. They have to balance a reasonable price and also be the best in their category.
