Almost Famous Mels Jobs and Profile

Island restaurateur Al Landers, who opened Bimini’s way back and later Cocomo’s Grill, is back as general manager at the island’s newest dining venue, “Almost Famous Mel’s South Beach Smokehouse BBQ.”

The big fish tank is gone, as is the kiddy room. The bar is improved, live music will have a comfortable setting and the kitchen is transformed from the islandy style offerings to tasty comfort food with some sweet surprises.

Genova formerly was executive chief at the Zen restaurant in Naples and at a smokehouse eatery in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Mel is planning live entertainment on weekends, with country music on Saturday nights, Harley the Impersonator on Fridays and a deejay Thursdays.
