Evolution and History |
|
MARS was formed in 1987 as an automotive chemical supply company. Ten years later the company branched out and began its own Mobile Service business in north central Texas. MARS learned the business “from the ground up” and discovered that the key to success was making multiple services available to the customer. Through innovation and development MARS has expanded the number of appearance reconditioning services we offer from five to thirty-three.
In 1998, MARS began to actively recruit people to join the MARS Organization. Since that time, we have trained hundreds of individuals who have applied the MARS business model and achieved personal success. We are represented in more than 200 markets all over America. We are proud to be recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission as a State approved Career School known as the Global MARS Training Institute.
MARS grew to become a national leader in the cosmetic appearance reconditioning business, and was ranked by Entrepreneur magazine as the #1 business in our segment.
In early 2009 after exploring several options for the future leadership of the company, Jayson Jones purchased the assets of MARS International and founded an new corporate entity, Global MARS. Over the past two decades, Jayson has served in almost every department in MARS International including a six year term as President/CEO. Jayson is uniquely qualified to provide the executive leadership that is essential in meeting the challenges of our constantly changing global economy.

Community | | MISSION M.A.R.S. has been recruiting, equipping, training, and certifying Operators and has successfully established hundreds of independent M.A.R.S. operations throughout the United States. We are continually working to provide our Operators with the best equipment, training, and technical support. | | | | COMMUNITY Special Operations Warrior Foundation: The Special Operations Warrior Foundation was selected as our National Charity by our Global MARS Operators. America's Special Operations Forces have suffered casualties at over four times the rate of conventional forces since the Iranian hostage rescue attempt in 1980. The Special Operations Warrior Foundation strives to relieve Special Operations personnel of the one concern, their families, that might distract them from peak performance when they need to be - and when America needs them to be - at their very best. Today, more than 700 deserving children exist who are not denied the education their fallen parent would surely have wanted for them to have. With nearly 100 children eligible each year for college in the upcoming years, the Foundation's estimated financial need through 2018 is $60 million. Our company is honored to assist the SOWF in their mission to help many deserving families. Environment | | These days environmental impact is an important consideration in business interactions. At MARS, environmental stewardship is not just a buzz word, it is how we create solutions every day. By its nature, MARS is inherently Green. Not just because of its corporate colors, although that is a convenient coincidence, but because of what we do.
The core function of the MARS business is to restore and recondition vehicles that have cosmetic damage. This "recondition instead of replace" philosophy, keeps replaced bumpers, windshields and plastic parts, out of landfills and on the vehicle as original equipment, because they get restored instead of replaced.
For example, in the state of Oregon each year 16,000 tons of windshield glass is buried in the ground as waste. This is obviously not very eco-friendly. MARS is doing its share to combat these unsustainable habits by repairing windshield damage, instead of replacing. Every day our network of over 400 Franchisees are repairing windshields all across the country, saving landfills and helping the environment. This type of "recondition instead of replace" business model is central to almost all 33 services that MARS provides. Here is a listing of some of the MARS services that provide opportunities for environmental conservation through reconditioning: - Bumper damage, even torn bumpers can be plastic welded together and painted by a MARS Franchisee. These repairs are to body shop acceptable standards and are widely endorsed by most Automotive Dealers around the globe. To replace a bumper costs hundreds of dollars and puts 12-15lbs of waste plastic in a landfill. Our repair methods use 2.5 5.0 grams of plastic welding consumables and after 10oz of replacement paint, the bumper is good as new and ready for many more years of service.
- Many vehicles come standard with leather seating and paneling. After a few years of service that leather can become faded, worn and even torn. Certified MARS repair techniques can repair the tear and dye the leather using OEM approved colorants that are waterborne and EPA compliant. This brings the functionality of the seat back, restoring the usability of it and adding many more years of enjoyable service to the car. It also saves the old leather from ending up in the dumpster.
- It is often thought that a scratch in paint can only be repaired by repainting that panel, or more, on a vehicle. Sometimes that is true. However most of the time even what appears to be a severe scratch can be made to disappear with the right kind of MARS certified paint refinishing and polishing. This saves VOC exposure to the atmosphere and contributes to better air quality in our neighborhoods.
- In the heat of Summer, headlight lenses often get faded and begin to look "frosty". Often this is simply a degradation of the surface of the plastic/Lexan headlight. MARS technicians are trained to refinish those headlights so that they do not have to be removed and discarded as waste.
There are 29 other cost saving, environment saving systems that MARS trains on at our State Certified Career School. MARS systems entreat the LOHAS approach to life and deliver sustainable environmental conservation at every service. At MARS our environmental concern goes beyond simply having a green logo, it is what we do. |
