Swedish Medical Center’s Emergency Room teams are equipped to handle most urgent illnesses and injuries, with state-of-the-art equipment, including a sophisticated patient information system. On-call experts in virtually every medical and surgical specialty also back up our teams. Swedish has experienced staff and compassionate care at our community-based Ballard Campus location. In this important role, you will be responsible for direct planning, leading, organizing, and controlling of the Emergency Department – Ballard Campus that serves over 21,000 patients per year. These challenges include staff development, implementation of standards, and quality control measures. This position is accountable for all clinical and operational activities of the unit. Qualifications: • BSN and Master’s degree (MN, MS or MA) in a related field • WA State RN License, Certification (CEN) in area of expertise, and ACLS • Demonstrate advanced clinical and organizational skills related to the care of patients • Knowledge of human growth and development to modify clinical services to the age and development stage of the patient • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals • Excellent communication skills when presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public • Develop and implement budgets for areas of responsibility • Computer skills: Windows 95/98/nt, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and clinical equipment in the ED At Swedish we enjoy a wide range of benefits, including a customized relocation program, a choice of insurance benefits, a 401(k) retirement plan, several commuting plans, and a variety of schedules including full and part-time.
