Wholesale Underwriter: ING DIRECT

Wholesale Lending is the channel through which ING Bank originates loans from Loan Brokers. This function includes origination, underwriting, processing, closing and booking to the Banks loan servicing system. Wholesale Underwriting is the department within Wholesale Lending that is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and adjudicating mortgage applications on the request of approved Loan Brokers and their clients, to ensure that credit policies are strictly followed.

The underwriter will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and making credit decisions on requests from existing and potential clients for home equity and 1st mortgage products. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to the following essential functions listed below:

Qualifications:

3 - 5 years of related work experience in a high volume lending environment.

Extensive knowledge of home equity and mortgage lending, prefer banking environment.

Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and concepts quickly.

Extensive retail banking credit granting experience in a large financial institution, preferably one using an automated credit scoring system.



Education and/or Certifications:

An undergraduate degree



Technical skills and abilities:

Excellent communication skills

Ability, willingness and desire to work in a dynamic, changing and fast-paced environment

Computer literate in a network environment (i.e., NT, MS Office Products, etc.)



Working Conditions:

Fast-paced, dynamic environment

May be required to work more than 40 hours, as the job requires
