The selected candidate will ensure that Medicare Part A & B recipients have the appropriate length of stay and receive the appropriate care. Ensure that all billing aspects of Medicare are thoroughly documented and reimbursed as needed. Function as a resource regarding the development and completion of resident assessments (MDS) in accordance with current Federal and state rules, regulations, and guidelines. Work with Medicare Part A & B recipients to ensure receipt of appropriate benefits. They will also work to ensure that all RUG-III criteria are met.
Additional duties include:
Provides training to facility based Medicare Case Managers as needed.
Function as a resource person for all Medicare Case Managers for complex and technical issues.
Coordinates the auditing of nursing documentation as needed to assure nursing notes and flow sheets are completed and reflect the skilled services needs denoted by the RUG classification are on the Medicare care plan.
Ensure physician and therapy notes are audited as needed to determine consistency with RUG and with nursing documentation.

Qualified candidates will meet the following:
CA RN license in good standing
Two years experience in Skilled Nursing Facility state and federal regulations.
Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare Part A & B.
Experience managing an interdisciplinary team preferred.
Capable of working with minimal supervision.
A positive attitude toward and a desire to serve the elderly
