Import Export Classification Analyst Derco Aerospace, Inc., an industry-leading aerospace distributor of hardware and services is seeking an Import Export Classification Analyst to join its Contracts & Compliance Department. The candidate will perform the import and export classification activity for all Derco parts and technical data, including researching and assigning the harmonized tariff schedule number for the United States (HTSUS), determine export classification jurisdiction, and assign the proper United States Munitions List (USML) category or Export Commodity Classification Numbers (ECCN). The analyst will be responsible for developing, standardizing, and documenting the classification process and recording the proper information in a newly developed parts database and in Derco’s ERP system. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out complicated classification tasks with little direction from his/her direct supervisor. A strong knowledge of the current U.S. Government regulations pertaining to import and export classification (15CFR, 19CFR, and 22CFR) is a must in order to analyze and determine the classification requirements of parts, technical data, and aircraft. The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in the following subject areas: USML, ECCN, original design intent, specifically designed provisions, the See-Thru Rule, Section 17(c) of the EAA, the Commerce Control List (CCL), BIS CCATS and ITAR CJ process, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), and the General Rules of Interpretation (GRI’s). Bachelor's degree or higher preferred. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 –5 years experience in the Import and Export Compliance field. Import experience is a plus. Limited domestic and international travel may be required.
