Production Manager: The QTI Group

Our client, a provider of graphic arts products and finishing, located in Madison, WI, is looking for a Production Manager. This is a new position that will report to the CEO and be a part of the company’s management team. Primary responsibilities for the position will include (but not limited to) – •Managing three production supervisors and a shipping supervisor •Insuring production orders are completed and shipped to schedule •Participating in developing the schedule procedures and methods that balance efficiency and responsiveness •Monitoring and improving labor utilization and efficiency in all operations, and all production personnel •Monitoring, reporting and improving job costs •Working with Finance and IT to provide effective reporting for both operators running the jobs and customer service and managers evaluating job costs •Insuring all operations are conducted to the quality management system internally in place, and monitoring continuous improvement •Developing systems to create current labor capacity and forecasted labor needs •Insuring hiring and training to meet needed capacity and manning for new processes •Working with HR to create training and career development plans and sound reviews and annual goals •Providing feedback systems to customer service / scheduling for order status and updates, and estimating for improving costing systems •Working with Manufacturing Engineering to identify present and future capital requirements and projects needed for production capacity •Developing annual production budgets

The ideal candidate will possess - •A BA in a related field •10 years experience in the printing, finishing, packaging or a related industry •5 years in a Production Management position •Good communication skills •Strong organizational skills •Good knowledge of printing or print finishing equipment
