SPECIAL NEEDS SPECIALIST II

Arcata Main Office

Responsible for supporting children with special needs (including social and behavioral issues) and their families in the Head Start program. Conduct classroom and child observations and provide feedback to classroom staff. Develop educational or behavioral plans. AA/AS degree (BA/BS preferred) in Early Childhood Education, Special Education or a related field required and 3 years experience in a preschool classroom, including supervisory duties. Full-time (partial year): 40 hrs/wk (Mon-Fri); $15.99 - $16.79/hr. Submit application, resume & cover letter.


ASSISTANT TEACHER

Children of the Redwoods Infant & Toddler Center (Arcata)

Assist teacher in the care and supervision of small groups of infants and toddlers. Requires a minimum of 6 ECE units and 6 months experience working with young children (12 units of ECE core classes preferable). Part-time (year round); 23.5 hrs/wk (Mon, Wed, Fri: 12-5 pm, Tues & Thurs: 12:45-5 pm); $8.36-$9.22/hr.


SPECIAL AIDE

McKinleyville, Eureka & Fortuna Head Starts (3-4 Openings)

Provide support & supervision to one child following an individualized plan to accommodate the child’s special needs and behavior issues. Requires experience working with young children. 6-12 ECE units preferred.

Part-time (school year): 17 hrs/wk (Mon-Thurs); $9.30-$9.77/hr.

* McKinleyville: 8:30-12:30pm + 1 hour a week for team meeting.

* Eureka (1-2 openings): 8:30-12:00pm + 1 hour a week for team meeting.

* Toddy Thomas (Fortuna): 8:30-12:30pm + 1 hour a week for team meeting.
