Provides safe and efficient transport and escort of patients throughout the institution. Specifically: working with the dispatcher to maintain schedules and establish priorities; establishing rapport with patients and making them feel welcome, secure and cared for; helping patients into wheelchairs and stretchers; handling patient care equipment and maintaining records of departmental volume and individual transactions. High School graduate or equivalent. Must be able to read speak English. Ability to complete an in-house training program that includes hygiene, first aid, body mechanics equipment handling, and asepsis is required. Prior transportation experience preferred. Certified Nurse Assistant license required.       |
