Location and team
Our Telecommunications Consulting team offers solutions from the boardroom to the switch room. Our customized services focus on strategic planning, market trend evaluations, and infrastructure and systems analysis, design and implementation to meet the needs of our clients, which include electric, gas, and water utilities; telecommunications carriers and mobile carriers; private corporate network operators; and federal, state, and local governments. We are seeking telecommunications professionals for work to be conducted in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. This position is based out of our Fairfax, VA offices.
Tasks may include
• Wireless SmartGrid and HAN systems development
• Radio system engineering over a wide range of radio technologies.
• Radio system design engineering for Thermal Generation Plants, Hydro Generation Plants, Surface Mines, and Underground Mines.
• Frequency spectrum research, management, and spectrum acquisition.
• Frequency Acquisition.
• Coverage study including computerized mapping capabilities and field verification testing.
• Capacity analysis and technical requirements development based current and projected system use.
• System engineering documentation development in both narrative, numeric and graphic formats.
• Backhaul communications design and specification.
• Integration of data application technologies into the proposed radio system such as vehicle location using GPS, remote meter reading, and other applications.
• Central dispatch systems and mobile radio control protocols
• Internet Protocol and IP based radio technologies.
• RFP development of detailed radio system specifications in such a format that can be bid by contractors.
• Bid review and key factors required in reviewing all bids.
• Contract negotiation system selection guidance, system capital and operations and maintenance cost analysis.
• Project management (resource management, cost management, schedule management).
What we're asking
Minimum requirements include:
• 7+ years of professional experience
• BS/BA/MS/MA degrees in the appropriate specialties
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 65% of the time
