High Voltage Technician

Responsibilities
The National Security Agency (NSA) is currently seeking a highly motivated High Voltage/Electrical Equipment & Relay Testing Technician.

Responsibilities include: high, medium and low voltage electrical power installations including emergency and supplemental power generation; primary (HV/MV) and secondary (LV) electrical substations; overhead and underground power distribution; SCADA systems; digital and analog power protection equipment; large scale UPS systems, building services; switchgear; power conditioning equipment, as well as general lighting, grounding, and lighting protection systems.

Qualifications
Successful candidates should possess 10 years of experience, strong written and oral communication skills, and comprehensive understanding of key principles of electrical power technology. Ability to work well in a rotating shift, fast-paced, challenging environment is essential. Must meet the certification requirements of ANSI/NETA ETT-2000 Standard for Certification of Electrical Testing Technicians Level III/VI.

Project and/or Program Management experience is helpful. Completion of formal training in a recognized Electrical Apprenticeship Training is highly desired. Perform VLF Tangent/Delta, hi-pot, and insulation testing of all types of cables. Military experience in the Prime Power Production Specialist MOS with Instrumentation or Electrical Specialties.

Moderate lifting, 15-44 pounds; Operation of crane, truck, tractor or motor vehicle; Pulling hand over hand (hours); Pushing (hours); Reaching above shoulder; Repeated bending; Specific visual requirement; Standing (hours); straight pulling (hours).
