Assistant Compliance Manager

Beall's Department Stores Compliance division has an immediate opening for an Assistant Compliance Manager. This is a full-time, salaried position, located at our corporate office in Bradenton, Florida. This position reports to the Compliance Manager and includes direct and extensive interaction with U.S. Government agencies, sourcing, merchants and vendors. This position requires a legal background and the ability to interpret legal language.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Trademark and Copyright registration filing.
  • Keep up to date on government regulations.
  • Review and approve lab test results.
  • Establish new and update current test protocols.
  • Track and Follow up with vendors for missing testing.
  • Review and approve import entry paperwork for classification and Country of Origin accuracy.

Interaction:

  • Reports to the Compliance Manager
  • Extensive interaction with U.S. Government agencies, sourcing, merchants, and overseas vendors.
  • Varying interaction with other individuals throughout the organization.

Job Skills/Experience:

  • College degree or experience in the legal profession a must.
  • Ability to interpret legal language.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Ability to function in a fast paced, constantly changing and demanding environment.
  • Fluent in English.
