JOB SUMMARY: Manage projects and P.M. schedules to provide maximum coater up time for a residential and commercial coating facility. Works with Maintenance personnel to insure plant equipment is operating efficiently. Reviews work orders and project requests. Works in conjunction with other staff members for continued effectiveness of plant personnel. Develops/implements action plans to enhance the coating operation process. Maintains and communicates standards and regulations set by environmental agencies such as DEQ. Utilizes Six Sigma, 5-S and Lean Manufacturing practices.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES: FUNCTION/ACCOMPLISHMENT:
Problem solving, troubleshooting, investigation methods/equipment insuring proper operation: review project status Prioritize work, review work orders, check status, review P.M. schedule, control manpower and overtime Approve/locate procurements for maintenance projects, contact OEM’s and contractor, review safety Teach/train maintenance and plant personnel; write procedures and work instructions Write purchase orders: file paperwork Review capital projects; plan new projects
REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. Engineering, emphasis on industrial applications Six Sigma certification desired 5-S and Lean experience a plus 5+ years Sputter Coating Experience; 5+ years management experience Must be a hands-on manager
Must be able to teach others. Troubleshooting/problem solving abilities Equipment knowledge Good written and oral communications Must be organized and able to schedule and plan

Microsoft Office, or equivalent software, frequently Microsoft Outlook, or equivalent software, frequently Telephone, frequently Hand tools, electronic test equipment, shop machines, and measurement equipment, frequently Power equipment such as fork lift and scissor lift, occasionally
The Maintenance Engineering Manager must be secure in knowledge rather than looking to others for answers. Excellent trouble-shooting skills are required.
