Job Description

Onsite Designated Support Engineer (DSE) – Documentum

Please note that this position requires EXPERT level skills with the DOCUMENTUM platform and will be located in New Hampshire.

The DSE provides senior level technical and engineering expertise to our largest enterprise customers running EMC Software. A great learning opportunity and avenue for showcasing one’s abilities, this position effectively and quickly positions the incumbent for future promotion and advancement.

Job Responsibilities:

· Provides high-level communication and proactive technical engineering expertise while keeping the customer relationship on-track and growing. This shall include, but is not limited to:

1. Design, re-design and testing of Documentum software systems.

2. Coding and performance engineering encompassing Java, EJB’s, servlets, JNDI, JDBC as well as other elements of the J2EE suite of technologies.

3. Relational database tuning including Oracle, DB2, Informix, etc.


  • Works closely with Product Management to drive innovation and performance including definition and development of new engineering requirements or product enhancements.

  • Exemplifies customer management skills, facilitating engineering communications, while traveling 10% to 20% of the time to customer sites.

Qualifications:

1. Senior level programming skills including the ability to make engineering code changes, review customer code, write scripts and debuggers to aid in problem resolution, and make re-usable as needed in JAVA, HTML, XML, C++.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Proactive leadership in the collection of customer requirements or trends and cross functional experience resolving broader-scale problems.

Plus Technical experience in two or more of the following:

Server


  • Architectural understanding of one or more OS’s (NT, HPUX, Solaris, AIX) and of one or more RDB’s (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Informix) including analytical and tuning skills


WEB

  • Understanding or network protocol and security layers

  • Installation, configuration and maintenance experience with one or more operating systems (NT, HPUX, Solaris, AIX)

  • Ability to trace and debug Web applications and an understanding of ActiveX


Client

  • Thorough understanding of NT domain models, security and Windows registry

  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networks, applications and application memory management
