Hours: Full Time

Company Profile: Edgar’s Bakery is a locally owned and operated bakery and retail store, with 4 locations in the Birmingham area.

Position Summary:

· Supervises/manages, directs and coordinates activities of Edgar’s Bakery retail location, while providing excellent customer service

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for all store functions during a shift to include supervision of all employees, housekeeping, opening/closing duties, sanitation, safety and pace

· Handles customer complaints of inquiries

· Handles scheduling and training of employees

· Controls food costs, labor costs, and waste

· Oversees cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facilities and ensures that all health and safety regulations are followed

· Participates in the hiring process and makes recommendations

· Appropriately handles human resources issues according to company and regulatory guidelines

· Emphasizes safety and security awareness, and ensuring that employees are properly trained to create safe situations

· Ensures high customer service standards are being met by employees

Requirements:

· High school diploma or GED

· Assistant General Manager - at least one (1) year’s experience in food service or retail environment

· General Manager - at least three (3) years’ experience in food service or retail environment OR one (1) year’s experience and a bachelor’s degree in a foodservice or business-related field

· Proficiency in windows-based computer programs

· Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks

· Strong customer service background

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
