| Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency 68980 Overview: Washakie Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital with "big city" capabilities including: 16 slice CT, digital mammography, 1.5 tesla MRI, fluro, full service lab with state of the art equipment, Level III trauma ED staffed with fulltime physicians, surgery services which include 24/7 CRNA coverage including OB epidurals, 2 general surgeons, orthopedic surgery, and ambulatory treatment, numerous wellness activities, and active rehab department including pool therapy and cardiac rehab, sleep studies, total PFTs, and electronic medical records. Worland is located in northwest Wyoming near the Big Horn Mountains. Responsibilities: 1. The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing individualized; goal directed nursing care utilizing the nursing process. The professional nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate all patient care activities as stated in the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act. The Registered Nurse supervises and is accountable for the continuum of nursing care, including, but not limited to Licensed Practical Nurse and Certified Nursing assistant practice. 2. The Registered Nurse follows established policies and procedures and standards of care based on the nursing process. The registered Nurse is responsible for development of a teaching plan specific to meeting the patient/family basic health needs. The Registered nurse coordinates care of the patient/family using an interdisciplinary holistic approach. 3. Complies with physician orders, coordinates patient care, and communicates nursing observations, findings, and pertinent information reflecting the patent's condition to the appropriate disciplines utilizing appropriate communication techniques. The Registered Nurse works in a partnership with other members of the health care team, physicians, and ancillary departments to promote proficiency in providing quality patient care. 4. The registered Nurse is accountable for the documenting of all aspects of the patient care provided. The documentation will include: patient assessment, interventions, response to intervention and re-assessment of the patient to maintain a continuum of care. The Registered nurse is responsible for the development and implementation of the plan of care that is individualized, goal directed taking into account the patients/families learning and specific needs or desires. 5. The Registered Nurse provides care in a systematic and organized manner, allowing for flexibility and adaptability to the changing situations within the departments. The Registered nurse must be able to triage and intervene in emergency situations, obtain accurate observation and intervene appropriately, under the direct supervision of the physician. 6. As a member of the health care team the Registered Nurse directs and coordinates assigned patient cares through delegating specific aspects of care appropriately, providing a team approach, assessment of staffing needs, serving as a role model/resource person for Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant and the Unit Clerks. The Registered nurse utilizes Care Coordination Services to achieve patient outcomes. 7. The Registered Nurse is accountable for his/her own professional growth, development and maintaining competencies through education. The registered nurse will be held accountable for following the routines set by the facility and maintaining a continuum of care through adhering to polices, procedures and protocols set by the individual departments.
Qualifications: Education/Experience: Graduate of an Accredited school of nursing required; Minimum of three years experience as an RN. Minimum of one year experience acute/critical care preferred. Technical Skills: Manual dexterity and physical agility to operate all equipment and perform all procedures. Utilizes safe body mechanics to ensure patient and caregiver safety. Other qualifications/certificate/license: Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wyoming. Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification. ACLS/PALS certification within 6 months of hire. TNCC and ENPC within 12 months of hire. Additional credentials/certifications may be required for specialty areas to include but not limited to the following: ED, OR, PACU, ICU Endoscopy, OB.
