Raytheon SI Government Solutions (R_SI) is a software development company specializing in aggressive cyber security solutions. R_SI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon (NYSE: RTN).
R_SI is recognized for innovative software security solutions specifically within the Information Operations domain. This has cultivated a deep expertise in software reverse engineering, low level systems programming and an ability to innovate solutions to demanding technical challenges facing our customer set.
As the Manager for software test engineering, you are responsible for creating a 'world class' QA organization with focus on the full life cycle of software product quality assurance, including: requirements and specification review; test resource management; test planning, design, review and execution. You will maintain a working knowledge of existing product functionality and stay abreast of future product plans. You will align other groups within the QA department and will be expected to provide strong leadership in an organization that values innovation rather than process. As a member of the leadership team, you will interface directly with program managers, development engineers and customer representatives to ensure the quality of R_SI products. This position reports directly to the president of R_SI.
Responsibilities:
Build a world class software QA organization within a high growth business unit of Raytheon
Develop, document and execute test strategies and plans
Maintain long and short term QA pipeline
Coordinate the testing phase of all projects
Represent QA across all projects to ensure efficient testing and bug fixing while being an effective advocate for the QA group
Report on product quality within the company via execution of ad hoc testing as well as detailed test plans/cases and accurate reporting of executed test cases, discovered bugs, and verifying fixed bugs, etc.
Manage the day-to-day activities of the QA team which includes management, hiring and development of software test engineers.
Identify opportunities for innovation within the QA domain and grow the organization to keep pace with overall product development expansion.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines. Masters degree a plus
8 or more years of software testing experience including at least a year as QA Team Lead or a QA Manager.
Solid understanding of quality assurance testing methodology relative to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Strong understanding of all aspects of the QA role, and all areas of application testing. This position requires a strong familiarity with automated software testing.
Hands-on experience with white box and black box testing, automated testing, and a thorough understanding of SQA methodologies.
Experience creating test plans, creating test cases, executing test cases, and scripting automated tests.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work effort & ensure that tasks are completed on schedule to meet business initiatives.
Strong leadership, assertiveness and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Additional responsibilities as required
Clearance: Must posses a secret clearance, TS/SCI preferred.
Desired Skills: Experience with the "STAFF" testing tool is highly desired.
