Computer Operator I - Desktop (005104:NSD)
Job Description
Desktop Technicians will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading computer hardware and software. This position is very fast paced; and requires the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues accordingly, using the software and hardware tools provided.

*Attention to detail and exemplary documentation skills required.

*Oral and written communication skills.

*Applicants selected are subject to a Government security/background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.*hj

Required Skills
* Ability to multi-task and to adapt to changes quickly.
* Must be a self-starter, with the ability not only to work within a team, but work independently on new projects and assigned tasks.
* Must have outstanding customer service skills.
* Must have prior experience providing desk side PC/Workstation support.

* The candidate should have experience with advanced OS troubleshooting and configuration, Windows domain and Exchange client troubleshooting, configuration of hardware drivers, registry settings, spyware removal, OS security patches and updates.

* Hardware Installation/Upgrades/Troubleshooting
* Software Installation/Upgrades/Troubleshooting
* Network Troubleshooting Skills.
* Advanced understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems (XP, 2000).
* General configuration experience - All Microsoft Office applications.
* General understanding of Microsoft Active Directory.
* General understanding of Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS 2003).
* General understanding of Microsoft Exchange 2003/Outlook 2003 communication and configuration.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving team environment.
* Ability to work under pressure, and pre-defined deadlines.
* Exemplary customer service skills required.

* Requires ability to work a flexible schedule, after-hours calls, and perform on-call responsibilities. (rotation schedule, will vary)

* May include some evenings and weekends as needed.
