POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Program Manager, Palliative Care
The Palliative Care Program Manager (RN) is responsible for the development and maintenance of a strong base of collaboration to design and implement a palliative care program. The Program Manager is a key member of an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, chaplains, social workers, pharmacist, dietitian and other personnel whose purpose is to relieve suffering and support the best possible quality of life. Will collaborate with team to generate palliative care patient referrals and will serve as an expert regarding end of life and the dying process, terminal/chronic illness, pain and symptom management and advance care planning.
The Program Manager will participate in family conferences and assist staff in identifying and developing strategies which address patient/family needs, their values, beliefs and culture.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Masters degree preferred. Current CA RN License. Minimum 3 years of nursing experience with previous leadership experience required. Experience in either Palliative Care, Oncology, or Hospice required. Certification in Hospital and Palliative Care (CHPN) preferred. Current AHA BLS cert.
