At the CIA, your paramount career goal will be to protect America's national security. Meeting our mission takes a wide variety of highly talented professionals interested in the ever-changing political, social, economic, technological and military environment on behalf of the nation. From administrative positions to science and engineering roles, to analytical occupations and more -- no matter which opportunity you pursue with us, in the US and overseas, your career will be like no other.

Undergraduate Co-Op Program - Engineer/Program Management Engineer

Our co-op program seeks motivated undergraduate students pursuing degrees in Materials, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science to work in the CIA's Directorate of Science and Technology. You will work in an R&D environment work with experienced Program and Project Managers and will be tasked to help plan and prepare program plans. Program Management Engineers focus on identifying new materials, technologies, and techniques that can be integrated into existing business areas. Students will gain exposure to management of research and development projects in support of materials and technologies, to include: requirements definition, analysis, product design and operational use, fabrication techniques, test procedures, and contract implementation and planning. Candidates must be willing to explore Program Management engineer concepts and procedures.

Minimum qualifications: Students should be enrolled in Materials, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering Program, or a Computer Science BS degree program at an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Students selected for this program are often attending academic institutions with established cooperative education programs, though not exclusively. They work on an alternating semester or quarterly basis and are expected to spend a minimum of three semesters or four quarters (this can include a summer tour) on the job prior to graduation. The undergraduate co-op program provides increasingly challenging assignments that are commensurate with the students' academic training and individual ability to assume additional responsibility.

Because of CIA's national security role, all applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation.

The CIA is America's premier intelligence agency, and we are committed to building and maintaining a workforce as diverse as the nation we serve.

An equal opportunity employer and a drug-free work force.
