Perform a broad range of HR generalist functions for multiple Business Areas within Harris IT Services (approximate employee base of 600).
Ability to make persuasive arguments, influence, and provide sound guidance and coaching to all levels within the organization.
Scope of responsibility includes all aspects of Integrated Talent Management such as staffing, Performance management, Employee Relations, Career and Talent Planning, Compensation, Organizational Development, and Succession Planning. Roles may vary from consultation to implementation to program management.
Forecast and lead change initiatives within the business unit
Lead, Facilitate, and Participate in organizational development/effectiveness and full employee lifecycle to include recruiting; on-boarding; talent management; strategic development and compensation/incentive recommendations
Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field of HR within the organization
Serves as primary client interface, consultant and internal spokesperson for the organization on matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives
Champions and enthusiastically supports growth initiatives including proposals, acquisitions, transitions and on-boarding
Partner with client managers to meet Business goals and objectives
Focal point for employee relations issues and resolution; performance management; measures and reporting; team and skill building initiatives; talent management and development; and daily client interface without appreciable direction.
Participate in process improvements in HR administration including support of ongoing efforts to shift focus from tactical to strategic levels of service
Travel approximately 20%
Qualifications:
BS/BA in Business administration with an emphasis in Human Resources or related degree in Human Resource Management
Masters Degree/MBA Preferred
8-10 years progressive HR generalist experience supporting a diverse client group
Comprehension of HR principles and best practice in the areas of Employee Relations, Performance Management, Organizational Development and Effectiveness, Compensation, Staffing, and Training.
Thorough working knowledge of applicable federal and state labor laws and regulations (eg., EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA and Workers Compensation.)
Working knowledge of compensation fundamentals
Microsoft office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
Presentation, Facilitation and Training Skills, including creation and delivery of material
Preferred Additional Skills:
Prefer experience with IT, professional services and/or government contracting environment
Demonstrated employee relations skills: conflict resolution, alternative dispute processes, facilitation skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Interpersonal skills to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to influence change within an organization
Problem solving/analytical skills to investigate and formulate recommendations and action plans
