
Responsibilities/Description: Define and establish commodity procurement parameters through the strategy development process, including make/buy, RFx, sourcing, including all phases of marketplace analysis, supplier selection, supplier relationship management and contract negotiations. This role will also involve a focus on Global Low Cost Sourcing, VA/VE, and process improvements. - Negotiate supplier agreements/contracts for goods/services.
- Solve complex problems important to the success of the organization and draw on experience to successfully negotiate lowest total cost of ownership/best price.
- Participate in the supplier assessment process.
- Participate, lead and execute in the development of the overall commodity strategy for the business including application of technology, process, and team development and benchmarking for assigned commodity and/or commodities.
- Track the development of new technologies.
- Analyze prices and costs with the intention of benchmarking the marketplace for best practices and pricing.
- Assess internal & external client requirements from a strategic perspective and translate those requirements into a supplier base that meets all client/customer expectations and future needs.
- Work effectively with all internal management, supplier personnel at all levels, and senior management.
- Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal skills and teamwork.
- Provide commodity/item knowledge, in terms of business application and the external marketplace.
- Report savings achievements through monthly statistics and quarterly summary, as appropriate.
Qualifications: Required - Legal Authorization to work in the US for any US employer.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in working in Supply chain Management with a focus on the Strategic business development or in Operations Supply Chain Management.
- Knowledge of contract development and ability to develop/draft complete contract terms & conditions.
- Strong understanding of our markets.
- The willingness and ability to travel up to 40% of the time, including internationally, in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
- Strong experience in Microsoft Word, Excel. Power Point and Outlook.

Preferred - A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, business management, supply chain management.
- A fundamental understanding of Lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Possession of a CPM certification through NAPM/ISM.
