Required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Seven (7) plus years of network work experience including managing team(s) responsible for network operations and support in multi-platform environments.
• Experience with data networking equipment, cabling management and support
• Experience in data communications software and hardware, network administration, support and maintenance
• Strong experience in network security
• Completion of Microsoft Certification Systems Engineer or Cisco Systems Certified Network Analyst (CCNA) certification required.

Job Description:
The Manager, Data Networks is responsible for managing all voice network, data network, and telecommunication-related hardware, software and staff that provide the installation, maintenance, support and enhancements to the Hoag Hospital IT network infrastructure. Has a high level understanding of voice network, data network, and telecommunications PBX hardware and software systems and foundation architecture. Defines and monitors multiple projects, provides technical and administrative supervision. Responsibilities are to plan, organize, coordinate and allocate resources for IT voice network, data network, and telecommunications projects, as approved by Senior Management, which accomplish the goals and Senior Management set by the Hoag. Responsible for assisting in the development of the Enterprise Architecture, as well as overall network strategies.

Maintains professional knowledge of current trends and developments in the information technology and healthcare field. Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct. Supports the Information Technologies mission to provide quality service to our internal and external customers.

Essential Functions:
• Responsible for managing the operations, design, daily planning and administration activities for the enterprise's Cisco network infrastructure, network cabling, NEC PBX, VOIP, voice mail, Cisco and Spectralink wireless phones. Other technologies requiring management direction and support include Meridian phone systems, ACD and other telecommunication related items/services in a multi-data center environment.
• Ensure proper tools and equipment is used in monitoring and maintaining network and telecommunication equipment and performance management.
• Responsible for strategic network and telecommunications planning and works with Senior IT leadership to coordinate network and telecommunication plans with those of the business. Develops and implements standards, procedures, and processes for the Network group.
• Plans and manages the support of new technologies, performance and reliability. Defines and negotiates service level agreements.
• Ensures that engineering team develops, creates, and maintains current management databases, network device configurations, circuit information and operations network diagrams for network infrastructure/PBX including the development of database requirements, and establishment of data file backups.
• Oversees level 2 and 3 support for network-related incidents.
• Oversees change control for network-related changes or dependencies.
• Ensures that equipment performance & reliability is measured and maintained; oversees efforts around baseline measurements on the network that will be used for comparisons to resolve network related problems.
• Oversees the configuration, installation, and that quality control standards are met for network computer systems.
• Uses a variety of software/hardware diagnostic tools and responds to network alarms, network degradation, and failures by diagnosing and then initiating network recovery process.
• Provides technical analysis for issues; troubleshoots, corrects, or escalates network server environment problems to vendor or next level technical support staff.
• Participate in the budgeting process and/or manage project budgets. Provide project updates, and utilization metrics to IT senior management.
• Must interface with members of the IT and user community to coordinate activities relating to the implementation of existing and new hardware and software.
• Projects an image of professionalism in communication, appearance and conduct.
• Position may require participation in 24/7 department on-call program. On-call employees are required to carry a department issued cellular phone or pager, respond to calls within 15 minutes, troubleshoot problem and provide services off-site as needed and be available to provide services on-site as needed within 1 ½ hours of being called or paged to respond.
• Position may require participating in meetings outside of normal business hours including occasional evenings and/or weekends.
• Position is located in a support department which operates a call center 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide support and service. Operations include 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. Employees may be required to pick up shifts outside of their standard assignment for coverage due to vacations, holidays, staff shortages, or other special circumstances as determined by leadership.
