The Director of Retail Planning and Replenishment is responsible for pre-season planning, inventory replenishment, and identification of sales, profit, and GMROI opportunities for the Retail channel. This includes in-season reporting, forecasting, reacting to business trends, and coordination of all retail inventory/replenishment systems and processes with all other divisions of the company.

Company interfaces.
This position will report to the Vice President of Inventory Management with management responsibilities for the category retail planners. The position will interface with Inventory Management, Distribution, Merchandising, Retail Marketing, Retail Store Managers, as well as general management.


Key Performance Measurements

1. Sales by category
2. Retail inventory turns rates.
3. GMROI and gross profit.
4. Markdown and liquidation rates

Responsibilities

1. Develop inventory plans for all Retail product categories and major sub-cats.
2. Work with Category Merchants to establish assortment plans.
3. Ensure the timely and accurate forecasting of merchandise for all product categories.
4. Manage inventory investment to maximize productivity including initial buys, reorders, markdowns and other forms of liquidation.
5. Ensure correct inventory levels are planned and maintained in all stores.
6. Monitor replenishment. Report, forecast and react to in-season business trends
7. Work with the MIS, accounting, and distribution departments to direct and facilitate the design of an improved retail inventory management and distribution system and processes.
8. Recruit, identify, develop and retain the planning and allocation team.




Qualifications

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
• 5+ years experience managing an inventory planning and replenishment team
• Experience with a multi-channel, multi-unit retailer.
• Self-motivated, decisive, versatile, and flexible.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
