Credit Union Employment Resources is working with a credit union in Oklahoma City in their search for an experienced Chief Financial Officer. This experienced financial executive will manage and direct all aspects of the Accounting & Financial area including all management/supervisory functions in the Accounting department, as well as financial analyses of operations. Ensures that all records of the credit union, as they pertain to the accounting department, are accurate an in adherence to rules and regulations as set forth for by NCUA
POSITION SUMMARY

Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employees’ performance.

Recognize employees who perform at a high level.

Hold employees accountable for their performance, attitude and behavior.

Meet with each employee monthly to review previous month’s performance, set goals for upcoming month’s performance and develop plans to improve employee’s performance.

Establishes, monitors and improves initiatives/procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function without decreasing the audit trail and security of accounting entries as to ensure all record keeping is kept current and accurate.

Oversees electronic services and accounting departments; reviews, schedules, trains, directs, and monitors the work of direct reports; conducts performance reviews; allocates resources to meet operational needs within the department; reviews and approves, denies, or modifies department recommendations from subordinates.

Oversees the budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, and insurance activities.

Prepares financial reports; ensures complete/accurate financial, statistical, and accounting records of the Credit Union.

Oversees reporting to regulatory authorities and to the Board.

Works with auditors/examiners on year‑end and comprehensive audits.

Prepares financial forecasts

Implements and reviews risk management initiatives.

Directs preparation and evaluation of budgets and capital plans; directs receipt, disbursement, and expenditures of money and or capital assets.

Analyzes department budgets and allocates operating budget.

Provides safekeeping, control and accounting for assets and securities.

Reviews operational procedures to obtain optimum efficiency and reduced costs.

Writes, reviews, and distributes financial policy and procedure statements to ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university

A minimum of five years experience in a senior accounting position or the equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

At least five years experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a bank or credit union environment.

At least two years of mangerial experience.

CPA Designation preferred
