SR. VM ENGINEERRESPONSIBILITIES: - Join NVIDIAs global Virtualization team and deliver an infrastructure solution that is world-class, technically sound, resilient to failure, operationally supportable, and meets the requirements of the business. - Architect/Design and implement next generation virtualization platform spanning across all our global datacenters - Act as a subject matter expert of the team and contribute to the department by meeting or exceeding short- and long-term goals for assigned project, take responsibility and resolve any issues preventing the achievement of timely, quality, and cost effective results - Participate in cross-departmental meetings of the company (Engineering, HR, Support, Marketing, etc.) to ensure efficient operation of the implemented solution and identify opportunities for extending the technology penetration levels. - Execute a graceful move of identified servers/services/systems running on physical servers to virtual infrastructure Monitor performance, capacity, and bandwidth utilization of operations, and recommend future architecture strategies - Provide oversight of configuration management, administration, maintenance, monitoring, modification and documentation of network operations and system maintenance MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - Requires in-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure support - Current, enterprise-class experience Architecting, designing and implementing highly available infrastructure solutions using VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3 (ESX, Virtual Center/VCenter, VMotion, HA, DRS, Converter/PowerConvert) - Experience designing and implementing shared storage (fibre channel) solutions in order to utilize VMwares VMotion, HA, and DRS - Good understanding of virtualization world covering the topic areas like maintenance and administration; performance monitoring and management; security; business continuity and disaster recovery; storage management. - Sound knowledge of networking protocols and components including TCP/IP, DNS, NFS - Experience with automated system builds and configuration management tools - Willingness and ability to produce high quality operational documentation, including Visio diagrams, high-level descriptions of the environment, as well as detailed instructions outlining the steps required to repeat the build-out and configuration of the infrastructure. - Ability to effectively communicate with business and IT individuals and upward within the organization PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with EMC shared storage solutions (Symmetrix, CLARiiON, Celerra) - Experience utilizing VMware SDK & API - Project management skills - VMware Certified Professional - Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
