Position Description:
This position is accountable for coordinating and implementing cost-effective fundraising activities in the local community. This position recruits volunteer participation, corporate participation, and secures financial sponsorship at the Senior Executive level.

Position Responsibilities:
o Recruit, orient, train, and engage active performance of high-level volunteers to exceed fundraising goals for events. This position secures financial gifts from the community, corporations, and individuals.
o Manage and provide leadership to volunteer committees and boards to ensure that committee members are fully supported and accomplish tasks required for a successful event, including solicitation of sponsorship and CEO corporate support.
o Actively seeks opportunities in the community for volunteer engagement, financial growth and generation of new contributions. This is accomplished through volunteer engagement, cold calls and strategic research and execution of plans. Prepare and maintain accurate records/data to evaluate success of events.
o Work with media to publicize mission/events, and secure local sponsorship for events to heighten public awareness and reach fundraising goals.
o Work with program staff and volunteers to ensure that every event contains program content to enhance the knowledge of the audience and general public regarding the March of Dimes mission, programs, special services and benefits for mothers and babies.

Position Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree or equivalent
o 1 to 3 years of work experience required
o Sales and marketing experience, volunteer management and development experience, and high-level time management and multi-tasking skills required.
o Excellent computer skills, especially Word and Excel
o Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
o Detail oriented; adaptable; organized; and ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks
o Must successfully complete a credit and criminal background check
o Valid driver's license and car
