General Summary:

The Senior Manager of the SAP Customer Integration Lab oversees the planning, development, validation, and documentation delivery of complex end-to-end EMC solutions for the SAP market. This key position within the Global Solutions Centers will lead a team of highly skilled solution engineers in building innovative solutions which bring together EMC hardware and software products to solve our customers’ SAP data management and protection challenges.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Evaluate and establish technical and functional objectives for the organization, develop solution work plans, team assignments and roadmaps to achieve these objectives.

§ Consult with solutions practice, engineering, product development, QA, technical support and field sales teams to understand our customers’ SAP challenges and solution requirements.

§ Participate in Engineering Roadmap, SAP Solution Summits and the appropriate technical tradeshows

§ Collaborate with the solution practice in developing SAP solution roadmaps and updates.

§ Work with Engineering to incorporate new product features and resolve key issues identified during solution development

§ Ensure all solution deliverables (ie. Proven Solution Guides, Whitepapers and Solution Demos) meet technical and functional objectives within approved budget and time constraints.

§ Interface with senior management and internal customers (engineering, solution practice, PMO, marketing, training, etc) to report on project/program milestones, roadblocks, challenges and progress.

§ Use independent judgement to help develop strategies and implement operational policies and directives.

§ Represent the organization in cross functional meetings.

§ Build key practice, PMO, sales/field and engineering relationships to support the organization.

§ Conduct performance and salary reviews, map employee skills development and manage department staffing requirements. Administer and enhance organizational / engineering practices, policies and procedures.

§ Develop capital and expense budgets to support solution roadmap execution plans.

Education and Experience:

§ BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering or related discipline.

§ 12+ years experience in the industry including 4+ years as a manager of technical personnel.

§ In-depth technical and operational knowledge of SAP data management processes and procedures with prior SAP basis administration and operations experience (required).

§ Experience with managing and working in remote teams spanning multiple languages and time zones.

§ Well-developed knowledge of current and future business; awareness of industry and product trends particularly as it relates to SAP.

§ Experience in managing and implementing multiple concurrent projects leveraging global resources.

§ Experience in building relationships with internal and external organizations to grow visibility and influence

Desirable Experience

§ Experience as a subject matter expert or manager/supervisor in systems integration/solutions development in a user environment.

§ Hands-on-experience with SAP applications and system management requirements.

§ Prior systems engineering/technical support management experience.

§ Experience with EMC software and hardware products (NAS, SAN, FC, etc.).

§ Experience with server and storage virtualization (VMware, HyperV, AIX, z/OS, etc.)

§ Broader management qualifications such as an MBA will be highly regarded.

Other Skills:

§ Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; communicates effectively with all levels of the organization and with customers.

§ Ability to resolve issues effectively and appropriately and without damaging internal or external relationships.

§ Abilty to manage in a matrixed environment.

Other:

§ Some travel may be required.
